Dean of the Agrarian Faculty took part in the international seminar provided in Samarkand
On May 11, 2023, an international seminar on the topic was held on the basis of the Republican Center for Agrochemical Analysis of the Republic of Uzbekistan: "Achievements of agrochemistry in ensuring food security". Dean of the "Agrarian" Faculty of the South Kazakhstan University named after M.Auezov made a report "Problems and solutions to food security".
Gulnara Tastanbekova noted that FAO experts in their forecasts note that production trends are not adequate to the growth of demand for products. The number of inhabitants of the planet is increasing by about 1.4% per year, while food production per capita is only 0.9%. As a result, the number of hungry and malnourished in the world (almost a billion people) not only is it not shrinking, but on the contrary, it is increasing. According to forecasts of international organizations, negative trends in the world market have a long-term character. In 2030, per capita food consumption, which guarantees food security in full (3,500 kcal per day), is expected only in industrially developed countries.
