A student of the Agrarian Faculty brought gold in karate to Kazakhstan
On the 24th of November, 2023, for the first time in Astana, the World Karate-Do Championship was held at the Belline Arena with the participation of 800 athletes from 10 foreign countries. A 4th year student of the educational program “Cadastre” of the Agrarian Faculty A. Nurmaganbet became a gold medalist. Aman Nurmaganbet has been practicing karate for 8 years. At the current competition, he competed in the 57 kg weight category (blue belt), demonstrating physical fitness, endurance and technical skill. In the final, Aman competed with an athlete from Portugal and won with a score of 5:0.
“This tournament was very difficult, my competitors were strong and serious athletes from Russia, the USA, Pakistan, Japan, India, Portugal, Italy, Kyrgyzstan, and Uzbekistan. And the fact that in such a serious fight I managed to win and win gold undoubtedly inspires me. I believe that this is not only my victory, but the victory of the entire Kazakh people. When I came to karate, I had a dream to raise the flag of Kazakhstan into the sky. The dream came true, I became the world champion. I'm happy! I am very grateful to my family, friends and teachers who supported me! And in the future I will raise our blue flag high,” - said Aman Nurmaganbet.
