Scientists of the Agrarian Faculty held an international round table online
On the 14th of February, 2024, scientists from the departments of “Plant and Livestock Production” and “Water Resources, Land Use and Agrotechnology” of the Agrarian Faculty held an international round table online on the topic: “Soil degradation and the threat to water resources.” The event was opened with an opening speech by the dean of the faculty, candidate of agricultural sciences G.R. Tastanbekova. In her speech, Gulnara Rakhimberdyevna noted that the connection between water and soil is obvious - climate change and human activity lead to soil degradation, which causes excessive stress on water resources. Soil erosion and compaction impair the soil's ability to store, drain, and filter water and reduce the availability of water for all forms of life.
The report of docent “Water Resources, Land Use and Agrotechnology” department of the Agrarian Faculty, Jarbolov Nuriddin Musirovich, was devoted to an algorithm for reducing losses in water supply distribution networks.
Professor from the Azerbaijan Institute of Soil Science and Agrochemistry Mustafayev Mustafa Gylman ogly spoke in detail about the causes of degradation and ways to solve the problem.
Head of the department “Organization and technology of irrigation and construction works”, professor of the Russian State Agrarian University-Moscow Agricultural Academy named after K.A. Timiryazev Balabanov Viktor Ivanovich touched upon the issues of soil cultivation in organic farming.
Report by the head of the research laboratory “Problems of the agro-industrial complex and energy information resources”, docent of SKU named after M. Auezov Murzabaev Bolat Asankhanovich was dedicated to soil degradation in the south of Kazakhstan.
The questions of interest from the round table participants were answered comprehensively. The meeting ended with the presentation of certificates to employees and speakers of the international round table.
