2. The history of the department

In January 2020, the department of Agrotechnology was renamed to the department of Crop and Livestock Production. 
The department trains specialists in the following specialties: 6B08110-Agronomy, 6B08120-Soil science and agrochemistry, 
6B08130-Protection and quarantine of plants, 6B08140-Fruit and vegetable growing, 6B08150-Protection and quarantine of forestry, 
6B08210-Technology for the production of livestock products.

The Department of Crop and Livestock Production has achieved a lot in the field of research, quality education and training of students, 
and the production of qualified personnel. In particular, “Mother Earth”, “Plant Research Laboratory”, educational and research complex “Kainarbulak”,
 two greenhouses for researching new varieties of domestic vegetable crops, student scientific circles “Mother Earth” and “Flower Earth”, 
“Student Scientific society".Participates in international scientific and practical conferences and works at a high level, 
having received second and third degree diplomas from the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

In order to combine high-quality training and practice for students, a training and production complex was opened at the Kainarbulak educational and production complex, 
where intensive apple orchards, vineyards, walnuts and other fruit trees, 32 varieties of grapes, irrigated crops were grown, 
work is underway to combine experience with practice. In addition, as a basis for industrial practice, there is a nursery created to preserve and study
the gene pool of medicinal and fodder plants.

From September 2020 to 2021, the acting head of the department of “Crop and Livestock Production” is Candidate of Agricultural Sciences L.K. Yesengeldieva. 
Since September 2021, the head of the department of “Crop and Livestock Production” is Candidate of Biological Sciences Zhylkibayev A.K.
The teaching staff of the department includes qualified agricultural specialists - 1 doctor of science, 12 candidates of science, 8 senior teachers and 3 master's students
