History of the department "Plant growing and animal husbandry"
In January 2020, the Department of Agrotechnology was renamed into the Department of Plant growing and animal huzbandry. The department trains specialists in the following specialties: 6В08110-Agronomy, 6В08120-Soil Science and Agrochemistry, 6В08130-Protection and Quarantine of Plants, 6В08140-Fruit and Vegetable Growing, 6В08150-Protection and Quarantine of Forestry, 6В08210-Technology of Production of Livestock Products
The Department of Plant growing and animal huzbandry has achieved a lot in the field of research, high-quality education and training of students, and the production of qualified personnel. In particular, "Mother Earth", "Laboratory for Plant Research", educational and research complex "Kainarbulak", two greenhouses for the study of new varieties of domestic vegetable crops, student scientific circles "Mother Earth" and "Flower Earth", "Scientific student society"» Participates in international scientific and practical conferences and works at a high level, having received diplomas of the second and third degrees from the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
In order to combine high-quality training and practice of students in the educational and production complex "Kainarbulak", an educational and production complex was opened, where intensive apple orchards, vineyards, walnuts and other fruit trees were grown, 32 varieties of grapes, irrigated crops, work is underway to combine experience with practice. In addition, as the basis of industrial practice, there is a nursery created to preserve and study the gene pool of medicinal and fodder plants.

From september 2021 the head of teh department "Plant growing and animal husbandry" is the candidate of biological sciences Zhylkibayev A.K.
The teaching staff of the department includes qualified agricultural specialists - 1 doctors of sciences, 12 candidates of sciences, 8 senior teachers and 3 undergraduates.
